Philips Cup


VENINI


Philips Cup, rectangular cup on a tall cylindrical foot, bearing in its centre a decoration of concentric rings in blue, green and red paste. 

Designed by Ludovico Diaz de Santillana, to order from the Philips company, at the end of the 1960s and made in about 200 examples that are not commercially available. Its shape was intended to symbolise the cathode ray tube of the television, of which Philips was one of the first and largest manufacturers.


Designed by Ludovico Diaz de Santillana for Venini.


Under the base is the engraved double signature "Venini" and "Philips".
